The concept idea is to incorporate reality in to my project by building up to a climax which explains what is happening. The idea is that the main character (me) is experiencing a very surreal dream but is unaware of it. Throughout this dream he sees and experiences strange events.
With a mixture of Huet’s landscape photos and promotional photos I’ve pieced together a storyboard. (Entry 2) It starts off with character looking into a mirror seeing a different reflection looking back at him: this makes him think about what the hidden meaning could be. He shortly moves on and as he walks out of his front door he appears at a beach: increasing the confusion, he begins to realise something isn’t right.
Moving on from the beach he comes across a couple unique landscapes: giant superman graffiti (which is old and fading away) and a car which is smashed high up on a wall. While he is still exploring trying to find himself a train station to get home he begins to sink in to the ground…
It is now pitch black and he needs to escape: by using his phone he believes he has ripped a hole in reality; from this he ends up back in his room watching TV. However on every channel he is viewing a memory.
From the memories he starts thinking about his Nan who passed away on the 26/03/11. A tattoo appears under his skin which he rips open to view: the hidden meaning is that despite the pain the love is permanent just like what that tattoo represented.
After watching too much television he begins to get a headache which is visual by his reflection, as though his mind is angry at him, shouting at him etc. This leads on to his head inflating.
The ending result is the character waking up and reminiscing his dream: describing it as realistic and surreal.
